Ad Libitum – Volume 1 (IM1) is the first volume of three books preparing and teaching the basics of music theory, published in 2012. The book presents guidance for the teachers in blue boxes along the exercises and also teaches how to read music by a relative reading of the position of each notes.

The book contains lessons, exercises and initial reading of G, F and C keys. Learning is also facilitated thanks to the use of basic melodies and nursery rhymes.

Written by Martine Neumayer (born 1964), a French pianist and music theory teacher, this method will enable a good and quick understanding of music theory basics.
